Aby pub raises over £1,000 for the Sunflowers charity
The family-run pub began to operate differently on March 21 due to the looming lockdown, but that did not stop the team from doing their bit to support their local community and good causes.
Last week, owner Dawn Jacklin told the Leader: “We have still tried to run all our usual events.

“The evening raised £290 and we had participants from up and down the country as well as in New Zealand and Ireland, fun night was had by all.
“We have held our Christmas Draw, marked Easter and St George’s Day, and we did a special picnic-style meal for collection for VE day.
“A lot of people have had to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries in lockdown.

Dawn continued: “Our fundraising has still continued for the Sunflowers Children’s Action Group. We managed to produce and sell all of our Aby calendars.
“We are so lucky to be well supported and have received lots of donations. Earlier this year, we were able to send Sunflowers £1072.60.”
Dawn and her family also praised their suppliers and their regular customers, who have kept in touch during the last year.
Dawn added: “A massive thank you to everyone for their continued support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back soon.”
