5. Tower Road Primary School, Boston
Talented young artists at Boston's Tower Road posing for the camera. The youngsters had taken part in a painting competition to celebrate the NHS's 50th anniversary. Emma Woodcock took the top title and collected a £10 book token from Pilgrim NHS Trust chairman Peter Jordan. In second place were Hannah Shaheen and Luke Ward, who won a £5 book token each. Book tokens worth £3 went to third-placed Kerry Roberts, Sam Oglesbee and Alice Maltby, while Laura Hallet, Kimberley Brown, Cally Johnson, Sarah Peck, Sheree Lee and a group entry from Year Three pupils were highly commended. Mr Jordan is pictured with some of the entrants and teacher Liz Harness, who organised the art work. Photo: Boston Standard
6. Tower Road Primary School, Boston
Another picture of pupils from Boston's Tower Road Primary School. The school was one of the many in the Boston area that had been taking part in schemes run by supermarkets to provide computers for the classroom. Pupils Sarah Peak, Adam Reece, Emma Corby, Mike Platt, Holly Carter and Nicky Kirkham were invited to take a couple of their school's machines bought through the Tesco scheme back to the store for the launch of Computers for Schools '99.
