Police are directing traffic but there have been long delays in the area.
They said the road has been closed due to heavy smoke in the area and will be opened once the smoke has cleared.
Ros Louth, owner of Abbey Parks Farm Shop in East Heckington said the fire started on land to the right hand side of the road heading towards Boston, neighbouring their farm.

She added: “I don’t know who the land belongs to but they have four containers parked there and one of them caught fire. They called the fire brigade as the fire was blowing directly across the road. There was thick black smoke so it was quite dangerous. It is out now, thank goodness, but our trade has been dead as a dodo, as a result.”
