Blaze at Gainsborough’s historic St John Ambulance building
FIRE ripped through the St John Ambulance building in Gainsborough on Wednesday night.
The historic building on Spital Terrace is the base for the town’s unit of voluntary first-aiders.
Fire crews from Gainsborough, Misterton, Saxilby and Lincoln were called to the blaze on the first floor at 9.15pm.

Hide AdA hydraulic platform, two hose reels and four breathing apparatus were used to bring the flames under control.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service said the damage inside the building was ‘severe’.
A spokesman said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
