Metal tree sculpture ‘puts down roots’ outside new Worksop bus station
The 3.5 metre metal tree is the second piece of artwork for the town to be commissioned by Worksop Civic Society with the aid of a grant from Notts County Council’s Supporting Local Communities fund.
The society has worked closely with Level Three Art & Design students from North Notts College over the past two years to create and design both the tree and another sculpture – in the form of a pyramid – which has already been installed in Bridge Place in the centre of the town.

Design work then began and the students showcased their ideas at an open evening held at the college.
Local company Campbell Design and Engineering then became involved to turn the students’ designs into reality at their workshop in Mattersey.
The idea behind the tree, which is situated in a landscaped area outside the entrance to the new bus station, is that it represents the growth and future of Worksop.
The installation was watched by students from the college and local councillors.
What do you think to the new sculpture?
