Letter - Council Tax: No need for an increase
However, Horncastle Town Council voted to increase their precept by one per cent.
Now, one percent isn’t a lot, and for most people it will amount to less than a pound on their tax bill. But, it’s not the money, it’s the principle.

Hide AdOver the last year, because of Covid restrictions, Horncastle Council expenditure has been less than it usually is. As I see it, there is no real need for an increase. Are they really short of money?
This smacks of raising the tax “because they can.” Can someone justify it?
