High Sheriff of Lincolnshire helps mark VE Day anniversary with ceremony at home near Sleaford
In May of last year, a programme of activities were set out to commemorate 75 years since the Allied victory in Europe on May 8, 1945.
One element of that programme was the reading of the Tribute to the Millions.

Hide AdLast Friday, Michael Scott, who took on the role of High Sheriff of Lincolnshire at the end of March, read the commemorative passage from his home at Ewerby Thorpe.
It formed part of a ceremony which also included the playing of the Last Post and the Reveille, the lighting of a beacon, and the raising of a glass in thanks, as Mr Scott put it, ‘to those who were not there to celebrate on May 8, 1945’. Also in attendance was Mr Scott’s son and his family who live next door to him on the farm.
