BBMF Lancaster Bomber catches fire at RAF Coningsby
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Lancaster Bomber suffered an engine fire while flying over Lincolnshire this afternoon, Thursday May 7.
The historic plane and all of its crew managed to land safely at RAF Coningsby.
The plane was on a practice run at the time of the fire.
Crew will now work to determine the extent of the damage and more information will then be released said squadron leader Emma Watkins.
