Mablethorpe RC: Success for young trio at county schools finals
It proved an exceptionally difficult and challenging course with large areas of water to cross.
Among a competitive field of 246 runners from all parts of the county, Mablethorpe RC’s juniors and seniors produced some excellent performances.

Hide AdIn the under 13s boys’ race, Colby Hawse covered the 3,500m course in 25min 13secs, while Archie Rainbow ran a superb time of 15min 34secs to finish third in the under 15s boys over a 4,500m distance.
In the under 17s men’s race, Joseph Rice-Mundy completed a 5,700m course in 23.01 for eighth place.
Ella Hawse recorded a time of 22.31 in the under 15s girls category and Janine Stones ran 27.32 over a 6,500m course to finish sixth in the senior women’s race.
For her performances across three of the four races held over the past three months of the Lincolnshire Runner Cross Country League, Janine was awarded first veteran lady in her category.

Hide Ad* Archie and Ellie Rainbow together with Mablethorpe RC team-mate Joseph Rice-Mundy travelled to Burghley House, near Stamford, to compete for Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School (Alford) and East Lindsey at the Lincolnshire Schools County Championships:
Joseph finished ninth in his category to put him through to the district championships, while Archie became his school’s first county champion and brought home a gold medal.
Ellie put in a very determined effort to finish ninth in her category, and like her clubmates has been selected to run for Lincolnshire in the Anglian Schools Finals.
