Enduro club hosts its first meeting
The Horncastle-based outfit hosted the event at Ashby Puerorum and the club’s debut season couldn’t have got off to a better start, with nearly 150 riders taking part.
The six-mile course had been well planned over the previous weeks, and included fast sections over fields, slower areas in woodland and a few man-made obstacles.

Whilst the conditions became a little testing with 15 minutes to go in the morning’s race one, the second race saw the wind, cold and rain in full swing and - with many riders falling by the wayside - it almost became a case of last man standing.
Category winners were: Experts - Jake Eddy; Clubmen - Amos Rowell; Sportsman - Michael Harris; Over 40s - Gareth Lodge; Over 50s - Neil Tapper; Ladies - Tara Hollingworth; Beginners - Phillip Mamwell.
The club’s next race is on April 9, in Kirton Lindsey.
