Peter shows off running Tallents for Retford in half marathon
The run, which started at the Don Valley Stadium for the last time, travelled through the city centre before heading back to the stadium for a final 200m sprint down the track.
Over 6,000 entered the race, and enjoyed cool, kind running conditions.

Hide AdPeter Tallents was first home for Retford, finishing in a great time of 01:15:54, earning him 18th position overall.
Jon Hewitt and Peter Barr both recorded personal best (PB) times finishing in 01:20:11 and 1:22:42 respectively.
Next home was Andy Kinsley who completed the course in an excellent time of 01:31:24 after taking part in the 55 mile Lincoln sportive cycling event the previous day.
Hot on Andy’s heels was David Corbett who recorded a PB time of 1:31:48.

Hide AdNext home was Becky Chadwick with a good time of 01:41:57, followed by Lee Ellis with a PB of 01:42:38.
Completing the line up for Retford with an excellent time of 02:07:10 was Emily Bloomer and Charmian Heaton with a time of 02:09:09.
A club spokesperson said “It was a great day anda good turnout from the Retford contingent.”
“It’s also a good platform for the team with a number of key events coming up in the calendar, including the Edinburgh Marathon for Jon, Peter and Emily, the Rubicon Half Iron Man for Andy, and a number of other road and trail races including the Sherwood Pines 10k and 5k event which the club are helping to organise on Sunday July 21st.”
