Castle setting for beautiful baroque music
Eboracum Baroque, a group of young professional singers, performed choral music inside the Parlour of the Great Tower, something which might have been heard during the castle’s heyday.
The five singers, conducted by Chris Parsons, delivered a repertoire of secular and non-secular pieces from popular and forgotten composers; some with Lincolnshire connections like John Taverner who taught music in Tattershall College during Henry VIII’s reign.

Being performed inside the castle, the evening was an intimate affair, which suited the music’s origins perfectly.
This is the first event of this type to be performed in the Castle for many years and it is hoped it will continue in the future.
The next event at the Castle will be the Knights and Princesses Day on May 2.
11am to 4pm.
